If so, we have an exceptional opportunity for you as an IT Service Delivery Management, Advisor – Telecom at Southern California Edison Company in Rosemead, CA.

You will play a vital role in supporting the activities for Network & Telecom System Integration Services. This team is responsible for the integration, configuration, and deployment of complex and critical networks and carrier-class telecommunication systems. You will work closely with SCE, ECS, and the Grid to ensure world-class network and telecom services in the SCE territory.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Providing and overseeing portfolio management of SCE resources for network and telecom capital projects.

  • Conducting engineering and design reviews, network architecture, and electrical equipment specifications.

  • Performing field audits, inspections, and complex scheduling.

  • Coordinating resources for equipment installation and cutovers.

  • Resolving problems and communicating with clients.

  • Managing the Network & Telecom System Integration Services Dashboard to enhance the organization's understanding of its multi-million dollar operation.

  • Tracking the purchase order lifecycle for all vendors under Grid Services.

  • Managing and ensuring the validity of the multi-year telecommunications construction schedule.

  • Forecasting short and long-range resource requirements.

  • Prioritizing work and developing alternative solutions to meet project goals.

  • Facilitating the Construction Schedule Update Process.

  • Recommending and implementing process improvements, including workload management and scheduling methods.

  • Defining metrics to measure effectiveness and reporting on status.

  • Establishing and standardizing internal core processes for cost effectiveness and productivity.

  • Providing assistance in finding and presenting data and information updates to senior telecommunications engineers, and performing other related tasks as needed to keep delivering project completions.

The essentials

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in more years within Information Technology, Operations, Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Application Development and/or technical related field.

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in experience in service performance management, vendor management, strategic sourcing, strategy development & execution, or contract management.

  • Four (4) or more years of experience with Network and Telecom systems.

  • Four (4) or more years of experience organizing, collaborating and partnering with, senior management, clients, and multi-functional team members to help drive solutions and ensure buy-in.

  • Experience interfacing effectively and collaborating with internal employees, third party entities, and all levels of management to develop solutions and ensure alignment.

The preferred

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in construction management.

  • Two (2) or more years of experience working in Information Technology for an electric utility, telecommunications or Fiber carrier, or a 3rd party related vendor that has supported utility/ telecom/ fiber carrier/ data center construction projects.

  • Two (2) or more years of experience related to Utility, Telecommunications, Fiber, or Data Center Construction.

  • Three (3) or more years of experience using workload scheduling or project management tools.

  • Three (3) or more years of experience with IT Data Center, Network, Telecom, Application Dev, Engineering, or Architecture functions.

  • Experience and familiarity with technologies employed in the utility telecommunications field, such as\: lightwave and microwave transport systems, voice systems, radio systems (including the roles that these technologies ply in the critical operation of the electric grid and overall company operations.)

  • Experience with SAP, and Ariba, Work Manager, Microsoft Project, PowerBI, and Remedy is advantageous.

  • Experience developing and implementing metrics to monitor areas of responsibility, identification of gaps, and implementing action plans to remediate

  • Experience understanding, assessing, and anticipating the internal/ external strategic landscape of service performance and its impact on services and projects

  • Strong communication skills, to effectively communication with a wide range of employees, including senior managers, engineers, clerical and field craft employees.

  • Six Sigma or equivalent Lean Certification.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

  • The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA however, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for a period out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

  • Position may require up to 10 – 20 % traveling between alternate SCE work location sites.

  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
