The job classification will be Student Worker Paraprofessional or Student Worker Paraprofessional Senior based on educational status and history. Salary will be paid commensurate with classification.

The Data Collection and Analysis Assistant is part of the Traffic Data Collection Unit and assists with performing various types of traffic studies. It will help with traffic data collection by using electronic counting devices, radar detection, and video cameras and assist with analyzing traffic data.

The position will work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year. This position is located at Waters Edge in Roseville. The incumbent will work onsite full-time during the summer but will have the option to work onsite or a hybrid (onsite and teleworking) during the school year. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be current students in a secondary, post-secondary, or graduate school. Other qualifications include:

• Experience with computer software.

• Valid Class D Driver’s License.

Applicants must be a student in a college/university, trade, or technical school. If a student is enrolled at a credit-granting institution he/she must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, a student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. The selected applicant will be required to complete an Education Verification form prior to appointment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Enrollment at an accredited college or university with a declared major of Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering.

• Experience using spreadsheet and word processing software.
