Chaves County Court Compliance Officer in Roswell, New Mexico

JOB SUMMARY: The Court Compliance Officer is responsible for monitoring offenders to ensure compliance on those sentenced to probation for DWI or other misdemeanor offenses. The Court Compliance Officer is responsible for maintaining security by the enforcement of program rules and operates through interaction with Magistrate or District Court. Must be able to appear and give testimony in court. This position is responsible for maintaining financial records, billing, and collections.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or G.E.D., two years experience or two years college may be substituted. Previous corrections, detention or law enforcement experience preferred.

CERTIFICATION/TRAINING: Valid NM drivers license with a good driving record.

ABILITIES/SKILLS: Must have the ability to deal with situations requiring tact and understanding and exercise good judgment when needed. Must be able to work with a diverse population; communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and have good working knowledge of computer programs and electronic equipment. Must be able to write clear, concise reports, have working knowledge of federal and state laws, as well as CYFD regulations and procedures regarding juveniles. Ability to work independently using good judgment and decision-making skills; work well with ever-changing priorities and/or situations.
