Job Description

About the role:

The Senior Program Manager provides business and technical leadership for major site projects, including geographic and capacity expansions, process improvements, and facility upgrades. You will be an advocate of Takeda's Project Management Methodology. The Senior Program Manager is the main contact for the PMO team at the Round Lake facility and supports the project management tool development; program governance including controlling; and assist with the annual capital management process. Sr. Program Manager is accountable for the project and portfolio performance, including planning, management of resources, overseeing finance performance, where applicable, and being a liaison for senior management and other partners. Responsibilities include overall program performance, integration of project activities, creation and management of project plans, risks, management of team members, project resources, and financial commitments. The Senior Program Manager will promote how project results influence the success of the organization and the site and provide input to the site's portfolio prioritization. You will report to the Associate Director of Project Management.

How you will contribute:

  • Manage medium to large projects to meet our needs, including one or more strategic programs. Projects may be non-technical or technical in nature.

  • Develop project plans, identify risks, communications, budgets, procurement, timelines, resources, quality, goals, and scope in implementing projects using Project Management Methodology.

  • Analyze complex data with the understanding of trade-offs between different goals and present recommendations across all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

  • Influence project teams to ensure successful execution of milestones and any related tasks.

  • Anticipate and resolve conflict situations that result in a win-win outcome.

  • Lead and maintain adherence to the Takeda Project Portfolio Life Cycle management system (SPOT).

  • Inspire creativity while working within a cross-functional team to develop new business processes and improve existing business processes.

  • Assess project or business process issues and communicate/develop resolutions to meet goals, which may include quality, customer satisfaction, productivity, and costs.

  • Work directly with project management tools while developing mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention with project managers, line managers and other manufacturing managers.

  • Ensure that Change Management methodology is integrated into Project / Program/ Portfolio managed.

  • Help build alliances across all levels.

  • Follow requirements of the Quality System

  • Ensure adherence to Good Documentation and Good Manufacturing Practices as applicable to the project.

  • Ensure that any deliverables implemented as part of the program follow EHS and Quality requirements.

  • Process observation and understanding of the manufacturing process from end to end is expected.

  • Report out and go on GEMBA based on the scope of projects is required.

  • Provide management to contractors or Takeda employees implementing major projects (e.g. construction / new expansion)

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or other related technical field.

  • 7+ years of related work experience with 2+ years in a management role.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.

  • Master's degree in a scientific or technical discipline.

  • Preference for knowledge of such principles as GMPs, FDA guidelines and purchasing practices.

  • Project management skills required, familiar with PMBOK® and PMI® or other industry PM standards.

  • Must be well versed in Project Management tools and must have knowledge of related disciplines, including Project Management software.

  • Can analyze and through thought and experience, and project management tools.

  • Manage multiple teams simultaneously.

  • Design and implement projects outside area of expertise.

  • Must demonstrate financial experience

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$133,000.00 - $209,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
