Summary:

Grifols Diagnostic Solutions is seeking a Senior Buyer in RTP, NC, this role will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Direct Procurement. The Senior Buyer will ensure all incoming requisitions in SAP are delegated and converted to Purchase Orders at the highest standard. Ensuring cost is in alignment with competitive quotes and or bids.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for individuals with at least a bachelor’s plus 5 to 10 years of procurement experience. At least 5 years of experience creating purchasing orders and negotiations with capital projects in a GMP/biotech or similar environment or experience with procuring complex products and services. Knowledge in direct materials, and facility services is a plus.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Focus on Indirect categories: Construction, Manufacturing, Equipment, Lab Supplies, R&D and associated service agreements

  • Reviews incoming requisitions for quality, accuracy, pricing effectiveness, and contractual obligation alignment. Buyer utilizes SAP to issue PO’s on behalf of business, while ensuring cost is in alignment with competitive quotes and or bids.

  • Responsible for reviewing complex documents to ensure alignment with cost and terms

  • Help determine the purchasing needs of the organization. Perform data/spend analysis to develop annual price lists for vendors and drive savings and SOX compliance.

  • Develop, write, and execute Legal Amendments to Master Services Agreements, Service Agreements, SOW, and TO documents based on end user requirements.

  • Direct supplier negotiation to get the best possible pricing and payment options.

  • Initiates competitive bidding through the RFP process as directed.

  • Cost management to identify areas of potential cost reduction and analyze the impact of pricing changes for goods and services.

  • Build relationships with suppliers and manage their performance. They conduct routine supplier business reviews, evaluating supplier performance and compliance including pricing, project delivery, invoicing accuracy, and the use of change orders to funding.

  • Drive process and technical improvements of procurement initiatives and systems such as Supplier Information Management, Training guides, and SRM/SAP.

  • Conduct ongoing Procurement training for end users

  • Provide end user support on Req to Pay, SRM, SAP and Supplier recommendations.

Education:

BA/BS at a minimum required

Experience:

  • 5 – 10 years’ procurement experience

  • 5 years’ experience required creating Purchase Orders and negotiations within capital projects (lab and bio-manufacturing equipment) preferably in GMP/biotech or similar environment or experience with procuring complex products and services

  • Knowledge of direct materials, and facility services a plus

  • Deep understanding and professional experience with Purchasing, SOWs, Contracts

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Excellent negotiation, customer service and consulting skills

  • Strong market knowledge and experience in working across various functions, businesses and regions

  • In-depth knowledge of SAP platforms

  • Ability to solve problems to the root core
