LifePoint Health Nuclear Med Tech-PRN in Rutherfordton, North Carolina

Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals as well as other medications to patients and performs the diagnostic study per physician orders.

Essential Functions:

Administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures.

Processes data and enhances digital images using advanced computer technology.

Provides images, data analysis and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures.

Evaluates images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation.

Processes the images for radiologist review.

Assesses patient condition, ensures patient safety through proper use of restraint/support devices.

Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination for interpretation and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.

Coordinates Nuclear Medicine examination to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care and assists with the management of the workflow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments in the absence of the Nuclear Medicine supervisor/team leader.

Uses computer system in documenting correctly and accurately patient information to ensure the quality of patient care: (a) patient's full name (b) patient's medical record number (c) patient's date of birth (d) examinations performed.

Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations to ensure proper examination documentation and charges.

Minimum EducationAssociates Degree required

Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Certifications:BLS required Licenses: Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)ARRT certification preferred Computer: Basic Computer SkillsClerical: General knowledge of clerical duties

Minimum Work Experience1-2 years preferred
