The Technical Support Engineer, GPTS, Micro NPD for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for being the voice of Global Field Service in collaboration with multiple teams to create a best-in-class next generation system for Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing.

This position is part of Global Product Technical Support (GPTS), and is ONSITE at our location in Sacramento, CA.

You will be a part of the Service and Support team and report to the Senior Director, Global Service Microbiology responsible for impacting the design and ensuring the successful launch of new systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Deliver a best-in-class microbiology system by driving the addition of serviceability features

  • Develop creative and effective support strategies to enable attainment of revenue goals

  • Support new product introductions to the market to ensure product success, high field associate engagement, and customer satisfaction

  • Incorporate Voice of Customer (VOC) and Voice of Service (VOS) during New Product Development, Design Changes, documentation updates, and reliability improvements

  • Represent the Service organization in cross-functional discussions alongside R&D, Product Management, etc. to ensure Design for Service goals are achieved

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or related technical field AND a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a medical device or related industry, OR Master´s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience

  • Extensive knowledge of medical diagnostics field service processes

  • Able to effectively communicate complex concepts to non-technical team members

  • Must be willing to travel internationally and domestically up to 25% of the time

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Laboratory diagnostics new product development and launch

  • Beckman Coulter’s Innovation Development Process ( Innovation DP or IDP)

The salary range for this role is $134,000-$156,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
