Job Description:
Lead the operations efforts of a commercial and industrial boiler systems and combustion equipment service team, based in Saginaw, Michigan, to provide and grow after-market services to support existing and new Joseph M. Day Company customers.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Service Group Operations Leadership and Management:
Lead and direct daily service operations work of Service Group's Field and Office personnel.
Manage 24/7/365 "On-Call" after-hours service schedule
Establish and monitor performance expectations and goals for Service Group's Field and Office personnel.
Develop and implement training goals and objectives for Service Group's Field and Office personnel.
Oversee business systems and processes to effectively deliver and manage Service Group operations.
All Service Group Field and Office personnel shall report directly to and be responsible to the Service Group Manager. The Service Group Manager has authority to terminate any Field Service Group personnel deemed not meeting performance expectations or not in compliance with Company employment policies.
Manage Service Group budgets and financial performance. Budgets and performance metrics to be jointly established by Service Group Manager and Management
Meet financial performance objectives set for the Service Group.
Implement all Management directives, goals and objectives
Comply with all Company policies
Communicate opportunities for sales of new and aftermarket boiler and combustion equipment and upgrades to Management
Support Management in developing project mechanical and electrical scopes of work
Supervise field installations, commissioning of new boiler and combustion systems, after-market retrofit and upgrade projects, and customer training
Champion and comply with Company's EH&S program
Support hiring future Service Group personnel. Hiring to be executed in conjunction with Management and compliant with Company employment practices.
Maintaining relationships with represented equipment manufacturers for access to factory resources and support
Travel approximately 30% of the time, primarily day trips, can include weekends and very occasionally holidays.
Ensure work performed by the Service Group complies with applicable jurisdictional codes and standards, such as: ASME, NFPA, UL, Michigan Mechanical and Electrical, NEC, etc. for all work performed by the Service Group.
This position reports to the Company President / Owner, Mike Day
