Saguache County Government Road & Bridge Temporary Summer Position in Saguache, Colorado
JOB TITLE: Road and Bridge Temporary Summer Positions
MUSTS: Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver s license. Must also submit and pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check, before being hired. Must have the ability to communicate both written and orally with members of the Department and the public. Must be able to express oneself in a clear manner to the public and behave in a professional manner.
SKILLS: Ability to take direction and lift 25-45 pounds. Comprehension of safety hazards and safety precautions are necessary to minimize injury to oneself, others and the equipment one operates. Working knowledge of common hand and power tools, shovels, wrenches, and radios. Flagging certification is a plus.
DUTIES: Duties will include but are not limited to, general labor in assisting the asphalt and bridge crew, including flagging, raking and shoveling asphalt, tree trimming, patching roads and bridge repair. Physical Duties include being able to work in various climate conditions and to be able to stand for long periods. Will need to have the strength to shovel or use other hand tools for extended periods of time. Will also need to be able to hear engine/hydraulic noises, emergency sirens, and back up alarms. WAGES: $17.59 per hour, depending on experience. Salary to be discussed further with the Employer. Paid Bi-weekly.

JOB TO START: As soon as a qualified applicant is hired (Mid-May).
DURATION: This is temporary 3 month summer position.
SHIFT: Work hours will be Monday - Thursday from 7:00AM to 5:30PM.
JOB SITE: Saguache County Road & Bridge Shop/Saguache, Colorado, and other locations throughout Saguache County
