INTERMITTENT SPECIALIST CAREER COUNSELOR / WORKFORCE AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
JOB DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this position is to provide career services to adults and youth. The work is performed under the direction of the Assistant Director.
Conducts intake, determine eligibility and provide employability assessment of individual job seekers.
Provides WIOA and Wagner-Peyser labor exchange enrollments and career services.
Documents all services according to governmental guidelines and maintain job seekers file with extensive case notes.
Provides individual and group career counseling for both adults and youth.
Provides continual and consistent support and follow-up to job seekers. Assists individuals in the development of their resume and cover letters.
Document services and actions according to policy directives.
Participates in community outreach and develop familiarity with social services available in the County that best meet the needs of participants.
Maintain confidentiality standards.
Assists with special projects.
Assists in the resource room and/or in triage services.
Assists in the operations of job fairs and other Center sponsored events.
Greets customers and provides customer service. Answers phones. Serves as a back-up for the front desk
