TEKsystems Automotive Service Specialist in Saint Louis, Missouri

Description:

The Technical Specialist works in a group supporting the many products in the Lubrication Business Unit. The products include hand-held lubrication tools, pumps, meters, valves, lubrication systems, and fluid management systems.

The position will provide support to our full line of products including taking inquiries pertaining to service documentation, troubleshooting products, clarifying assembly/disassembly procedures by phone and online, and handling warranty issues. The position may also be required to document failures for further analysis and return of defective goods.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

The following tasks with be performed by the Technical Specialist I in support of the product lines: support sales inquiries with product recommendations, taking inquiries pertaining to service documentation, remotely trouble shooting products, clarifying assembly/disassembly procedures by phone and online, provide guidance on warranty process, document product failures for further analysis and return of defective equipment.

The Technical Specialist I will be responsible to learn and support the following product lines within the LBU.

Mityvac – Automotive & Vacuum related Tools & Equipment

Lincoln & Alemite Tools & Equipment – includes pumps, reels, and meters among other products.

Skills & Qualifications:

A four year degree in business or technical field desired. AS degree in technical field with 2 yrs applicable experience.

2yrs experience in a product oriented customer service or technical support role. Experience as a retail customer service/sales rep for NAPA, O'Reily, or Sears auto parts or tools is applicable.

Mechanical aptitude is a MUST. Minimum experience with automotive parts and service tools. Preferred experience is more product engineering in nature including motors, pumps, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics and specifications.

Customer service aptitude is a MUST.
