Job Description

Manages the collection activities for multiple collection agencies and deceased/probate servicer vendors for bank card and merchant processing accounts. Manages the review and collection of charged off accounts to achieve target recovery goals and process compliance with minimal risks. Ensures compliance with applicable internal policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. Manages and coordinates the operational activities for high volume, transactional, account maintenance for assigned bank card areas from internal and customer requests. Ensures quality service and effective operations support for all of the assigned internal and external customers. Accomplishes results through the effective management of staff that range from lower level non-exempt through exempt level professionals as well as out sourced vendor processing. Administers corporate policies and procedures and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Participates in the review, recommendation and development of operational systems, new processes and procedures affecting assigned units, coordinating system conversions from an operations perspective.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • 10 or more years of experience in collections and financial services industry

  • Five or more years of management/supervisory experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Considerable knowledge of loan collection techniques, policies, procedures, and principles of credit lending

  • Strong understanding of collection laws and regulations

  • Considerable knowledge of consumer, residential, commercial and/or dealer originated installment lending as applicable

  • Thorough knowledge of on-line collection systems

  • Considerable knowledge of general organizational operations and procedures

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • Strong managerial skills

  • Ability to resolve complex problems with minimal guidance

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $108,375.00 - $127,500.00 - $140,250.00
