Hydrovac Operator

The Hyrdovac Operator will be performing routine manual and semi-skilled tasks within the underground construction sector. As part of this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment essential to daily operations.

What Do You Offer Us:

  • Operate hydrovac equipment safely and efficiently to excavate soil and/or debris.

  • Transporting equipment to and from job sites.

  • Inspect and maintain hydrovac equipment, performing preventative maintenance as needed.

  • Plan routes and schedule jobs to meet delivery deadlines.

  • Document work activities and maintain accurate logs.

  • Adhere to all truck driving regulations, company policies, and procedures.

  • Maneuver hydrovac trucks into position for excavation work.

  • Follow delivery instructions and ensure proper handling of materials.

  • Report any equipment defects, accidents, or violations promptly.

  • Demonstrate flexibility to work long hours and in various weather conditions.

  • Maintain cleanliness of job sites, including picking up tools and securing equipment daily.

  • Provide labor support to specialty crews as required.

  • Perform general maintenance on construction equipment and vehicles.

  • Always ensure proper use of personal safety equipment.

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations while operating equipment.

  • Execute job tasks safely in accordance with company policies.

  • Fulfill any other duties as assigned by management.

What is Required:

  • Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.

  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.

  • Valid truck driving license.

  • Must be dependable and able to work in a team environment.

  • Require passing a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug tests.

  • Great attention to safety.

  • Able to work in a high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations.

  • Preferred experience within the Construction, Pipeline or Gas Distribution industry

This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.
