The Fixed Assets (FA) team falls within the Corporate Accounting team. We provide the accounting of the fixed assets of the bank for the asset's lifecycle, from purchase to retirement, by ensuring fixed assets are assigned the correct physical location, life, and asset category. Depreciation and inventory of approximately 70,000 assets are managed and tracked monthly. Our focus is on standardizing and automating as many processes as possible to free up time for critical thinking activities. Construction in progress for building construction and software development occupy 50% of the team’s workload.

We are currently seeking an Accounting Specialist for Fixed Assets as part of our Enterprise Accounting department. Enterprise Accounting is integrated with the Enterprise Banks and Operations division at Zions Bancorporation. The position is very flexible with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely. As a Fixed Assets Accounting Specialist , you will play a key role fixed asset management and asset certifications, in which your contributions through innovation and thinking outside the box will have influence and impact for the entire department.

Fixed Asset Specialist will possess these talents:

  • Specific attention to detail while reviewing and approving Fixed Asset related invoices

  • Ensure invoice details are accurate and items purchased fit the requirements for a fixed asset

  • Manage accounting of fixed assets throughout their life cycle for Construction in Progress (CIP) for Internally Developed Software (IDS) or building construction

  • Maintenance of In-service assets, adding, transferring, reclassing, retiring, and certifying

  • Reconciliation abilities between many different systems and reports

  • Microsoft Excel knowledge

  • Reconciliation of Fixed Asset sub ledger to General Ledger & Tax books

  • Comparison of Fixed Asset module to other systems such as ServiceNow & Project Costing

  • Customer Service for internal and external customers

  • Work with Project managers to capitalize projects accurately

  • Conduct asset certifications with various facilities groups or asset managers on 2–3-year intervals

  • Understand and be able to educate others on company’s Fixed Asset policies and procedures

  • Ability to work with numerous different groups to assist in standardizing and documenting processes for Fixed Assets

  • Time Management for regular daily, weekly & monthly deadlines

  • Daily invoice approval cut offs

  • Weekly account reconciliations and general ledger reviews and ability to explain discrepancies

  • Monthly preparation of reports and analysis for internal customers

  • Monthly depreciation system processing

  • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of accounting experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred

  • Knowledge of GAAP and CIP preferred

  • Experience with Oracle EBS, Accounts Payable and Microsoft Office a plus

  • Self-Starter with a positive and team player attitude, who can succeed individually and part of a team
