Manager Systems Administrator

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manager Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team at our Ken Garff Corporate Offices in Downtown Salt Lake City. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Windows Server environment, Office 365 services, PowerShell scripting, VMware virtualized environments, and ensuring robust security measures. This role requires strong technical expertise , problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to system administration and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Windows Server Administration: Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Server operating systems including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, SQL, and file services. Monitor system performance and implement troubleshooting procedures.

  • Office 365 Administration: Proficiency in managing Office 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, and Azure Active Directory. Ensure smooth operation and availability of Office 365 applications.

  • PowerShell Scripting: Automate tasks and perform advanced configurations using PowerShell scripting to streamline administrative tasks and improve efficiency.

  • Virtualization: Utilize VMware to manage virtualized environments, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and resource utilization .

  • Security: Implement and maintain security best practices, including user access management, data protection, threat detection, and security compliance. Specific knowledge of Sentinel One and Proofpoint is desired .

  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: O versee backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and ensure business continuity.

  • Other : Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) tools is desired.

    Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in Windows Server administration, Office 365 administration, PowerShell scripting, VMware virtualization, and security best practices.

  • Hands-on experience with backup solutions (VEEAM, Exagrid , SQL) and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Familiarity with Manage Engine tools for PAM and CMDB.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within the IT team and across departments.

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

    Desired Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Certification (e.g., MCSA, MCSE)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

  • ITIL Foundation

  • CompTIA Network

  • CompTIA Server

  • Microsoft 365 Admin Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate

  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals

  • Microsoft Certified: Teams Voice Engineer Expert

  • VEEAM Backup Certification: Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, or related field preferred.

  • ManageEngine Service Desk Plus

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration roles, with a focus on managing complex IT environments.
