This includes organizing, maintaining, and cleaning the stock rooms and vaults; rotating food items according to the first in first out method; handling food items according to the Texas Department of Health guidelines; and assembling, weighing, measuring, and issuing ingredients from production documents and/or the menu. Delivers supplements and other food items to the units. Picks-up food items from cold storage and vendorsand#146; warehouses when necessary. Performs monthly and periodic inventories. May work unusual hours in the event of a disaster or operational necessity. This position is required to drive a state-owned vehicle.Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.Essential Job Functions1. Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.2. Organizes storerooms and vaults using First In First Out system.3. Checks in ingredients and food items from Contracting and/or vendors.4. Assembles, weighs, and measures food/ingredients for menu items.5. Issue food items to kitchen personnel.6. Maintains the sanitation of the storerooms and vaults according to the Texas Department of Health.7. Performs periodic and monthly inventories.8. Picksand#150;up food items from cold storage or vendorsand#146; warehouses.9. Preforms other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Registrations, Licensure Requirements or CertificationsMust possess valid Texas driverand#146;s license or obtain it no later than 90 days after hire date. Applicants with an out-of-state driverand#146;s license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure. Eligible driving record required based on HHSC Fleet Management policy.Knowledge Skills Abilities1. Has working knowledge of fractions, decimals and table of weights and volumes, and handling and storage of food.2. Knowledge of and practice of back safety.3. Working knowledge of the food handling, sanitation and safety guidelines.4. Skill in the use of a computer and office equipment.5. Skilled in operating all types of scales.6.
