What will you be doing?

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the shipment of product to customers. This position is responsible for the preparation and accuracy of shipments and meeting all documented service requirements per customer specifications. This person ensures shipment schedules are followed, orders are accurate with appropriate labels and that quality control approvals have been cleared for shipments. This individual will be working with the production and shipping department leads and supervisors to ensure proper placement of inventory prior to shipping and reading labels.

· Ensures that materials shipped are verified against pertinent documentation.

· Place items into containers using protective barriers.

· Keeps and verify records of incoming and outgoing.

· Follows shipping methods for materials using the operations procedures.

· Ensures final product quality, quantity, and labeling of inbound and outbound shipments meets customer requirements.

· Ensures that daily goals are met and sustained daily/weekly/monthly.

· Identifies roadblocks to processes and procedures and offers suggestions for improvement with stacking inventory.

· Inspect and unload incoming and outgoing shipments and make sure they conform with specifications.

· Promotes a safe work environment by following safety rules and regulations.

· Drive Forklift and ensure equipment functionality.

· Performs other related duties as assigned

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Experience with shipping in a manufacturing or processing company.

· Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload.

· Team player with high energy and a can-do attitude.

· Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

· Required to have effective communication skills both verbal as well as written.

· Overtime expected and required on short notice, with flexibility based on plant production schedules.

· Close attention to detail is essential.

· Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
