We are seeking a Senior Environmental Technical Program Manager to join the CO+I Systems Technology team. This role is focused on leveraging nature-positive solutions to enhance the environmental sustainability of our datacenters. You will lead groundbreaking projects, drive the integration of innovative environmental solutions, and shape the future of green technology.

  • This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.

  • Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

  • This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.

Responsibilities

  • Program Strategy and Planning: Develop and manage the strategy and roadmap for sustainability initiatives within datacenter operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and environmental sustainability targets.

  • Project Management: Lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of projects focused on nature-positive and sustainable technologies. Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate and collaborate with various teams, including engineering, operations, research, and community partners, to integrate sustainability solutions into datacenter designs and operations.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and opportunities to leadership and other key stakeholders.

  • Innovation and Integration: Drive the adoption and integration of innovative, nature-positive technologies to enhance datacenter sustainability. Work with R&D teams to translate advanced research into practical applications.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure proactive risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on project performance, including key metrics related to sustainability and environmental impact. Implement continuous improvement by analyzing outcomes and applying lessons learned.

  • Budget and Resource Management: Oversee project budgets and resource allocation, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial constraints.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance program management processes and methodologies. Implement best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant local, national, and international regulations concerning datacenter operations and environmental impact.

  • Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages professional growth and development.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering (Civil, Environmental and/or Systems), product/technical program management, environmental science, or sustainable product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 4+ years of proven experience building relationships and influencing in a matrixed organization with a focus on sustainability and/or environmental projects

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering (Civil, Environmental and/or Systems), product/technical program management, environmental science, or sustainable product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Experience with ecological restoration, advanced ecosystems, and nature-positive technology

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, assess opportunities and develop principles to prioritize multiple strategic and tactical solution options.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
