Tactical Engineering & Analysis, INC Combat Systems Technical Specialist in San Diego, California

Overview

We are currently seeking a TDL Systems Technical Specialist in San Diego, CA. You will be involved in the setup, loading, initialization, maintenance, and operation of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence (C4I) systems. C4I systems include Tactical Data Link (TDL) and Command and Control (C2) systems and associated simulation, test tools, Radio Frequency (RF), and Communications Security Material (CMS) support requirements the NIWC Pacific Combined Test Bed.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

  • Responsible for setting up, load, initialize, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Multi TDL Radio Frequency (RF) and voice systems for UHF (LOS/BLOS), and HF communications to include Link-11, Link-22,Satellite TDL J (STJ), and Satellite TDL A.
  • Maintaining inventory and loading cryptographic material in support of shipboard and airborne TDL system configurations to include Link-16, UHF/EHF/HF Radio Frequency (RF) systems, network devices, and internal / external Radio cryptologic devices to include KG-40, KG-84, KGV-8, KGV-11, KIV-7M/HSB, KG-175A-G, and KIV-21.
  • Ability to use of Simple Key Loader (SKL)Load, configure, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot TDL test tool and host simulators for simulation, monitoring, and data collection of Line of Sight and Beyond Line of Sight Link-16 data networks.
  • Integrate TDL test tool and host simulator systems to perform development and test of TDL networks and support Joint Range Extension Protocol (JREAP), Satellite TDL J (STJ), and Multi TDL environments.
  • Loading, configuring, operating, maintaining and troubleshooting of TDL host systems for development, testing, and fleet events.
  • These tasks will be in accordance with designing and operating procedures to include Next Generation Command and Control Processor (NGC2P), Common Data Link Management System (CDLMS), Link Monitoring and Management Tool (LMMT), Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI), Global Command and Control System - Maritime (GCCS-M), and Maritime Tactical Command and Control (MTC2) System.
  • Participate in the process for central accountability of incoming and outgoing laboratory classified media and Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) to include hard drives, digital media, radios, computers, load devices, phones, and data.

Equipment Used:

  • Generic PC Workstations,
  • CDLMS, ADSI, DLGW, NSITE, TJHS, Aegis Weapon System, LMMT, DLTT, RF, CMS, various electronic peripherals.

Typical Working Conditions:

  • General laboratory environment
  • Computer/Equipment lab

Essential Physical Tasks:

  • Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.

Written and Verbal Communications:

  • Clearly defines, describes, and lists steps and processes required to accurately verify specific A3C4I system performance requirements (i.e. generate detailed test plans and procedures).
  • Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively.
  • Participates in pre/post-mission meetings and teleconferences with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representatives.
  • Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
Qualifications

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Five plus (5+) years of experience with Tactical Data Link / Aegis / C4I / DoD C4ISR Systems / CMS Simple Key Loader.

Customer Interface Activities:

  • Interfacing with customers and other contractor/civilian/military representatives utilizing clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Providing input for consolidated event Daily Status Reports (DSR).
  • Participating in pre/post-mission meetings and teleconferences with customer and other contractor/civilian/military representative.

Project Management Tasks:Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity.

Work Schedule:The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.

Minimum Education Requirements:High School diploma or GED.

Pay Range:$71,000.00 to $85,000.00 annually, DOE

U.S. Citizenship is required

Security Clearance:

Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
