The EMI Plant Director will manage all phases of the MMS EMI manufacturing plant, located in Tijuana, MX. The leader can be located in San Diego or Tijuana, MX but will be required to cross the boarder daily.

The leader will provide the highest quality products at price levels that are competitive. Reporting to the VP ISC MMS, the Plant Director will coordinate all plant activities with special emphasis to insure FDA compliance, ISO 9000 registration, and ensure that we have policies and procedures in place to meet the directives of local, state and federal government agencies. (i.e. EEOC, GMP, OSHA, EPA, etc.)

It will be the Director’s responsibility to establish a high level of expectation for all employees in the performance of their duties as it relates to ethical conduct.

The Director is responsible for establishing aggressive cost objectives, capacity planning, attainment of production schedules, productivity and efficiency improvements, and the development and management of annual budgets and financial performance.

· Plan, prepare and recommend an annual operating budget. Upon approval, establish and implement a monitoring system of plant performance to budget. In addition, balance of the year financial forecasting will be done and submitted as directed by Division Finance.

· Responsible and accountable for end to end supply chain management of all manufactured products.

· Ensure strong partnership and collaboration with cross functional partners leading EMI.

· Develop strong organizational development ensuring ready now pipeline for critical positions.

· Responsible for the accounting and reporting of all location capital assets per company policy. Capital budgets for building and equipment will be prepared and submitted for final approval in accordance with Company policy Division directives.

· Responsible for the planning and implementation of cost reduction programs, waste reduction, quality improvement, and productivity improvement programs. As required, these will be coordinated within the plant, Division R&D, Division Q.A., and other plant locations as appropriate.

· Constant evaluation of manufacturing systems, methods, procedures and controls is required and changes implemented on a timely basis.

· Drive understanding and use of new technologies geared to improving product quality or manufacturing efficiencies.

· Ensure the facility meets all regulatory agency requirements on the local, state and federal level. All compliance programs will be coordinated with Division and Corporate as deemed necessary to ensure proper direction and adherence to Company policies and procedures. Per CQRM-3004, the CEO of Becton Dickinson and Company authorizes the Plant Manager/ Director to accept the notice of inspection/audit from a representative of a government agency or accredited third party on their behalf.

Experience and Education:

• BA/BS in Engineering, Business Management, or Industrial Engineering Required

• MBA preferred

• 10 years high volume manufacturing experience required - prefer medical device

• Significant knowledge of federal, state or local mandates

$158,500.00 - $285,300.00 USD Annual
