Job Description
We are looking for a responsible Floor Care Tech to maintain and protect our facilities. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a custodian, or janitor, to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises, as well as preventing vandalism. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep. They will have great physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are imperative in custodial maintenance jobs. The floor care tech position will at times be required to assist the custodial crews with cleaning duties as needed by Shift Supervisor.
Responsibilities
Strip and Wax Terrazzo Floors
Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
Operate handheld and riding scrubber equipment
Shampoo & Extract Carpets
Spot treat carpet stains
Order supplies with Account Manager to ensure product is always stocked
Perform equipment inspections
Report major damages and oversee repairs
Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks
Skills
Proven experience in a floor care role
Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
Attention to detail and conscientiousness
Very good physical condition and strength
High school diploma is preferred but not required
Requirements
Must be flexible
Must have reliable transportation
Must be willing to drive between locations (La Jolla and Rancho Bernardo)
