U.S. Mint Facility Maintenance Supervisor in San Francisco, California

Summary This position is located at US Mint,San Francisco Mint-MANUFACTURING DEPT/Plant Mgr CA/Product Div/Plant Engineering Section CA. As a Facility Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing technical and administrative supervision over the repair and maintenance of equipment, systems, tools or facility structures and fixtures used to support the production of coins at the San Francisco facility. . Responsibilities As a Facility Maintenance Supervisor, you will: Be accountable for quantity and quality of the work performed by subordinate employees. Adjust plans, assignments, and methods, as necessary, to reduce or control costs, and accomplish the work of the unit as effectively as possible. Identify and ensure that work unit goals are aligned with United States Mint strategic goals; effectively translate and communicate work unit goals into concrete work assignments for staff. Recruit, select, manage, appraise, and reward employees in a fair and consistent manner. Implement recruitment, retention, and developmental strategies that support the organizational performance objectives and successful socialization of new employees to the United States Mint. Ensure that all systems, programs and processes for which responsible for are covered by internal or management controls and that appropriate precautions are taken to prevent fraud, waste, and misuse of resources in accordance with the Federal Manager's Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA). Perform contractor officer representative (COR) duties, particularly for emergency repair and preventative maintenance contracts, sometimes with original equipment manufacturers. Requirements Conditions of Employment All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines. A one year probationary period may be required. A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. Shift Work: This facility operates on a 24 hour per day, three-shift basis, 5 days a week. Work schedules may vary and assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. The successful applicant must be available to work on all three shifts on a rotational basis. May be required to wear safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position. This may include safety shoes, hard hats, hearing protection, gloves, masks, etc. Pass a pre-employment physical examination. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. You must meet the screen-out element Ability to supervise through subordinate supervisors, normally addressed at the beginning of the online questions.
