Responsibilities

Under the Director or designee, the staff nurse provides and documents, goals-oriented nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of St. Mary's Medical Center. The staff nurse utilizes principles of the nursing process and coordinates clinically related activities to provide for the effective delivery of healthcare. Responsible to supervise the care given by the Licensed Vocational Nurses, Licensed Psychiatric Technicians. Hospital/Psychiatric Attendants, and other working under his/her direction.   • Cares for patients in Acute Rehabilitation and / or other areas in the Medical Center as necessary.

  • Data collection and nursing assessment (initially and every 24 hours)

  • Plan nursing care based on nursing diagnosis.

  • Set goals with client/patient congruent with other disciplines.

  • Document above in nursing notes and interdisciplinary care plan.

  • Revise and update assessment, diagnoses, plan, evaluation, and goals throughout patients hospital stay.

  • Actively participate in interdisciplinary team conference on assigned patients.

  • Promote client/patient/family participation in health promotion, maintenance and restoration of premorbid lifestyle.

  • Assume responsibility for continuing education and professional development.

  • Contribute to professional growth of others on rehabilitation team.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience with a minimum of 1 year in area of related field required

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field or equivalent professional experience required

  • Current California RN license required

  • American Heart Association BLS certification required.

  • Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse preferred.

  • American Heart Association ACLS preferred.

Pay Range

$69.47 - $84.81 /hour
