Amazon's Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment and delivering great experiences for our customers is top priority. FOAA is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support our Center of Statutory Support team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Preparing and supporting both internal and external financial reporting needs, including statutory close support, analytics and supplementary financial analysis;

• This position will be key in supporting accounting teams in all aspects of financial accounting, reporting systems, procedures and policies;

• Working closely with business partners across LATAM, and globally, to maintain efficient and compliant accounting processes;

• The successful candidate will have a strong desire to invent and simplify processes and exceed expectations in a dynamic, fast environment.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

San Jose, SJ, CRI

Basic Qualifications

  • Accounting Bachelor Degree or related field with 4+ years of experience in accounting;

  • Experience in month end closing of books of accounts, working on various sub-ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations, reporting activities, IFRS or US GAAP, preparation of financial statements;

  • Knowledge of financial controls and procedures;

  • Excellent English language skills in speaking and writing;

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Oracle Financial Applications;

  • Strong written and oral communication skills;

  • Experience in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controller-ship with measurable results experience;

  • Is comfortable working globally in cross-functional teams and in a fast-paced company;

  • Basic taxes and local regulations understanding.
