We are seeking a motivated and detailed-oriented Civil Engineer I who is an active member of the Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico (CIAPR) to join our team in Puerto Rico). The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the planning, design, and management of civil engineering projects. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and grow within a dynamic and supportive environment. The idea candidate will have engineer in training certification and a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills and live in Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands territories.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of civil engineering projects including infrastructure and dredging projects, transportation, water resources, and environmental systems.
Conduct site inspections and surveys to gather data and assess project requirements.
Prepare detailed engineering plans, drawings, and specifications.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, and other team members to ensure project goals and deadlines are met.
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
Perform calculations and analyses to support the design and construction of civil engineering projects.
Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as CIAPR standards and guidelines.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, or a related field is required.
Active member of the Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico (CIAPR) / College of Engineers and Surveyors of Puerto Rico.
Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in civil engineering or related field.
Shall be physically capable of walking over rough terrain and standing long periods of time.
Internships or co-op experiences in a related field and a strong academic background in relevant coursework in relevant field is a plus.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and other engineering design tools is a plus.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Fluent in Spanish and English, both verbal and written are required.
