Production Manager

The role of Production Manager will be responsible for the daily operation of the plant to ensure production quality and safety standards are met in accordance with the Corporate Quality Policy and Safety Guidelines. He/she will also be responsible for meeting production targets while maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to all policies and procedures established in the Health & Safety Manual. This position reports directly to the Plant Director.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the plant to achieve productivity goals, quality standards, and cost control.

  2. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies related to health and safety, environmental protection, and ethical conduct.

  3. Review and analyze current processes to identify areas of improvement and implement changes as needed to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.

  4. Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, maintenance, procurement, and human resources to ensure smooth operation of the plant.

  5. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective action when necessary to meet or exceed production targets.

  6. Ensure timely resolution of any issues or problems that may arise during production, including equipment failures, supply shortages, and labor disputes.

  7. Communicate effectively with team members at all levels within the organization.

  8. Foster a positive work culture by promoting open communication, providing constructive feedback, and recognizing individual contributions.

  9. Lead and motivate team members to reach their full potential and contribute to overall success of the organization.

  10. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement through lean manufacturing techniques and lead implementation efforts where appropriate.

  11. Develop and manage budgets for materials, supplies, and labor expenditures.

  12. Maintain accurate records of inventory, production schedules, and financial transactions.

  13. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and technological advancements that could impact the business.

  14. Provide guidance and mentorship to direct reports, offering advice and support to help them develop professionally.

  15. Conduct regular performance reviews for direct reports, provide feedback and set clear expectations for future performance.

Job Qualifications:

Education: B achelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred but not mandatory.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role. Experience in medical device manufacturing or pharmaceutical industries preferred.

Skills: Strong leadership skills, ability to influence others, excellent problem-solving abilities, exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, effective communication both written and verbal, and ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.

Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, knowledge of ERP systems, understanding of ISO standards and cGMP requirements.

Personal Characteristics: Passion for excellence, high energy level, adaptable to changing circumstances, self-motivated, resilient, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Languages: Fluent English and Spanish.
