One of our clients in the San Ramon area is looking for a Staff Accountant for a contract to permanent placement opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines

• Track and monitor all funds received and spent

• Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and/or clients

• Support timely monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts

• Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes

• Assist with audits and tax preparation

• Act as a liaison for vendors to reconcile any billing discrepancies

• Adhere to internal controls and company policies and procedures

  Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in non-profit organization

• Knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting principles

• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)

• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

• Excellent communication and organization skills

• Understanding and empathy towards the mission of non-profit organizations
