Intern, Cyber Security

Conduent is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cyber Security Intern to join our dynamic team and gain hands-on experience in the field of cybersecurity. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced cyber security professionals, contribute to real-world projects, and enhance your skills in various aspects of information security from security operations, forensics, threat intelligence to detection engineering.

Responsibilities :

• Participating in the development of automation to better enhance Conduent’s detection engineering capabilities utilizing our SIEM and SOAR platforms.

• Assist in the parsing and analyzing log data from on-prem and cloud data sources.

• Monitoring security systems, identifying and investigating potential security threats, and recommending appropriate actions.

• Collaborating with the cyber security team to analyze and respond to security incidents and breaches promptly and effectively.

• Participating in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of security tools such as IBM’s QRadar and SOAR platforms, Carbon Black and security software.

• Contributing to the development and maintenance of security documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident response plans.

• Staying up-to-date with the latest cyber security trends, threats, and technologies to provide proactive recommendations for improving our security posture.

• Support in researching and evaluating emerging security solutions that align with the organization's needs and goals.

Qualifications :

• Scripting experience in at least one language, preferably Python.

• Experienced and comfortable with writing regular expressions to detect patterns in content.

• Ability work comfortably from a command line

• Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and information security principles.

• Strong data organizational skills with Microsoft Excel.

• Familiarity with common security concepts and technologies, such as logging, SIEM, and EDR.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Eagerness to learn and stay updated on the evolving landscape of cyber threats and security best practices.

• In the middle of pursuing a degree in Cyber Security experience in cyber security and proficient with at least one scripting language, preferably Python.

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. The estimated salary range for this role is $20.00– $25.00 an hour.
