Iteris is looking for an Engineering Technicianthat seeks to join a talented group of professionals to promote thriving communities by applying technology to solve complex issues in transportation. You will work, in partnership with Iteris Advanced Sensor Technology Engineering staff, to create prototypes and proof of concepts of new products. Evaluate existing products and report on possible design issues and run tests of various sensor technologies and report on their effectiveness.
What you will be doing:
Fabricate fixtures and prototypes according to engineering specifications
Develop and maintain LabView programs for test automation and data acquisition
Conduct system, board (assemblies), and component (subassemblies) level diagnosis to identify and resolve issues
Interpret schematics to perform repairs and troubleshoot boards effectively
Demonstrate strong soldering skills for rework and assembly tasks
Provide cross-functional support to various Engineering disciplines and Manufacturing departments as required
Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and other relevant tools to perform accurate measurements and analyses
What you need to be successful in this role:
Associate degree or equivalent technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
Proven experience in fixture and prototype fabrication
Proficiency in LabView programming for test automation and data acquisition
Strong understanding of electronics and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot system, board, and component-level issues
Excellent soldering skills with the ability to perform fine-pitch soldering
Familiarity with reading and interpreting schematics
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Iteris anticipates paying between $25.00 and $28.00 for this role. However, actual pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
