Applied Materials Functional IT Solution Architect in Santa Clara, California

Key responsibilities:

  • Serve as an interface with Semiconductor Internal R&D & Lab operations group or any other Semi business process areas for the purpose of business technology strategy development and IT solution discovery.

  • Architect and design complex integrated business process/digital solutions to solve high value problems in the areas of semiconductor R&D and Lab operations or any other relevant Semi business process areas.

  • Validates and ensures design integrity of business process/business application solutions to address complex cross functional needs.

  • Understand E2E Semi R&D/Lab business processes and identify opportunities to improve user excellence and productivity to accelerate innovation.

  • Collaborates with Business & Technical teams to co-develop a roadmap and drive products and features from concept to launch in a fast-paced environment.

  • Translates product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.

  • Define/architect security posture of applications to protect IP.

  • Define/Architect data integration across digital applications in the R&D and Lab operations business processes.

  • Develops testing and data conversion strategies. Identifies and recommend industry BKM's for integrated functional solution design and standards, and develop and enforce defined standards;

  • Plan and manage large scale, complex cross functional business application solutions to ensure effective and efficient integration of E2E business processes.

Functional Knowledge:

  • As a functional solution architect, need to have good techno-functional experience in designing/architecting system/user process flow for Digital applications.

  • Ability to architect complex integrated digital applications.

  • Keeps abreast of technologies in the market and drive new technology evaluations.

  • Good understanding of AI/ML Technology and solutions.

Business Expertise:

  • Exposure to semiconductor R&D and Lab operations or any other relevant Semi business processes is preferred.

Leadership:

  • May lead a team of functional analysts or architects.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.

Problem Solving:

  • Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.

Impact:

  • Deliver value to business through effective and efficient solution design.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • A minimum of Bachelor of Science

  • 7-10 years’ work experience in the areas of IT product development and functional solution design

U.S. Salary Range:

$156,000.00 - $214,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
