Amergis Resource Program Specialist (RSP) Teacher in Santa Clarita, California

A Resource Specialist Program (RSP) teacher plays a crucial role in supporting students with special needs. Here are the key responsibilities:

  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): RSP teachers develop educational plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of exceptional students1. These plans outline specific goals and accommodations.

  • Student Evaluation: They evaluate students to identify their needs and determine appropriate interventions. This assessment helps guide instruction.

  • Instruction and Remediation: RSP teachers provide individualized and small group instruction to remediate learning difficulties. They work closely with classroom teachers to ensure successful progress toward student goals and objectives.

  • Collaboration: They collaborate with staff, parents, and agencies to coordinate services and adhere to due process. This includes scheduling services efficiently and effectively.

  • Content Areas: RSP teachers have knowledge and skills to provide instruction in English language arts, math, and algebra.

RSP teachers focus on meeting the diverse needs of exceptional students, ensuring they receive appropriate support and achieve their educational goals.

  • Duration: August 13, 2024 to June 13, 2025

  • Location: Saugus Union USD

  • Site: TBD and will not be finalized until July (must be available to work on campus 5 days per week)

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7.5 hours per day with a half hour unpaid lunch

  • Pay rate: $40-$50 per hour (DOE)
