Responsibilities

Position Summary:

In keeping with the Pacific Central Coast Health Centers health care philosophy the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing direct patient care in an ambulatory setting

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Possession of a valid California License as a Registered Nurse

  • Possession of a California Certificate as a Nurse Practitioner

  • Certificate as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner

  • One (1) year experience as a registered Nurse on a Psychiatric Inpatient Unit Psychiatric Emergency Service clinic or Mental Health Center

  • OR Possession of a valid permanent California License as a Physician Assistant issued by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance and one (1) year experience as a Physician Assistant on a Psychiatric Inpatient Unit Psychiatric Emergency Service clinic or Mental Health Center.

  • Verification/Waiver: Verification of qualifying experience education and/or training is required at the time of filing. Candidates unable to do so may submit a letter requesting a waiver of this requirement indicating the reason(s) a verification cannot be obtained. Failure to submit verification or request for the waiver will result in application rejection.

  • Communications Candidates must possess the following abilities: to express oneself effectively both orally and in writing; actively listen to others for understanding of their needs and situations; speak and write English clearly; read and understand correspondence memoranda and directives and effectively represent the organization department and its operations to management and the public.

  • Decision Making This position requires that the candidate is able to act in a decisive manner using good judgment; manage diverse functions; assess problems and situations and anticipate needs and evaluate alternatives.

  • Professional Attitude It is expected that the candidate will hold the following professional attributes: dependability: maturity in relationships with others; self-confidence; willingness to take initiative: commitment to the organization; and represent the organization to other agencies staff and the public with a courteous helpful accurate and business-like attitude in all telephone email and in personal contact.

Preferred:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in acute care facility i.e. hospital; specialty training in areas of trauma/urgent care pediatrics and gynecology minor office surgical procedures.

Pay Range

$59.53 - $86.32 /hour
