Position Overview:

The MRI Technologist II performs procedures in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and preferably one or more of the following modalities: General Radiology, Angio/Cath Lab and Computed Tomography.

Job Description :

EDUCATION

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Associate's: Health Science or equivalent education/experience

  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

  • ARRT - Radiography - American Register of Radiologic Technologists

  • OR ARMRIT-Certified MRI Technologist

  • OR CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist

  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider within 30 Days of hire

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

  • Two years as a Radiologic Technologist performing general diagnostic imaging and one or more of the following modalities: Angio/Cath Lab, Computed Tomography, or Magnetic Resonant Imaging.

  • Experience in an acute care hospital.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

A complete understanding of technical principles, policies, and procedures is required in Magnetic Resonant Imaging.

  • A complete understanding of technical principles, policies, and procedures is required in general diagnostic radiography to include trauma radiography, routine fluoroscopy, pediatric radiography, surgical radiography, portable radiography.

  • UMRI safety/protection

  • Understanding of current departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

  • Understands the concepts of:

  • Continuous Quality Improvement

  • Quality Control.

  • MSDS Program.

  • Infection Control

  • Proficiency in MRA imaging with 2D/3D reconstruction skills.

  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members of the diagnostic imaging department, staff members of other departments, and the medical staff.

  • The ability to deal with patients from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds in an effective and respectful manner.

  • The ability to perform numerous duties -at a given time.

  • Ability to perform Special Procedures examinations with skill, accuracy, compassion, and tact.

  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions of technical nature.

  • The ability to perform numerous duties at a given time.

  • Able to maintain records accurately.

  • Computer Skills - Basic word-processing skills; competent within the HIS (Health Information System), the RIS (Radiology Information System) and PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System).

  • Maintains a positive attitude.

  • Understands basic statistical methods.

  • Able to adjust in a positive manner to changes in work schedules and assignments based on the needs of the department.

  • Capable of effectively utilizing the Hospital Information System.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with a minimal amount of supervision.

  • Good communication skills (both orally and in writing).

  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team or committee.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Demonstrates positive customer relations.

  • Ability to prioritize and successfully complete their assigned workload in a stressful environment.

  • Follows established department and hospital policies and procedures.

  • Maintains good basic work habits (i.e., arriving. to work on time, wears name badge, well groomed, takes their lunches and breaks according to established procedures, etc.).

  • Completion of other duties or assignments as required.

Pay Range is $56.25 to $69.94 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
