Responsibilities

::: {#win0divHRSSCHWRKDESCR100grp$1} ::: {#win0divHRSSCHPSTDSCDESCRLONG$1} On The Ringling's 66-acre grounds, this role regularly:

• Maintains, plants/transplants, and waters trees, plants, shrubs, flowers, and grass as directed.
• Operates equipment such as trimmers, hedgers, mowers, edgers, and sweepers.
• Monitors and reports to supervisor disease/insect damage, weeds, irrigation, and necessary maintenance of equipment. Treats issues as directed by supervisor.

As needed this role:

• Provides information about the plants to visitors and responds to questions.
• Fertilizes plants, shrubs, trees and grass on a seasonal basis.
• Performs other duties and assists with special events as assigned.

Qualifications

• 9th grade education or higher
  • Please note the minimum age is 18 years due to the need to drive golf carts and other state-owned equipment.

Skills

• Relevant groundskeeping/landscaping knowledge/experience such as:
  • Mowing
  • Edging
  • Planting
  • Leaf Blowing
  • Pruning/Trimming
  • Raking/Mulching
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds frequently, climb ladders/use lifts, walk significant distances, and work in extreme weather conditions.
• Valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
  • This role uses motorized vehicles to traverse campus.

If hired, candidate must obtain a lift certification within year of hire and be physically able and willing to operate an aerial lift, forklift, etc. All training would be provided by The Ringling. ::: ::: ::: :::

Please note, the incumbent may be required to work a flexible schedule including weekends based on the needs of The Ringling.
