Empire State University currently seeks an Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing. The Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing is a senior level professional that reports directly to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing. This individual will demonstrate a commitment to student success and execute the vision for enrollment management and marketing efforts at Empire State University by providing leadership and support to the Office of Enrollment Management and Marketing. The successful candidate will play a major role in coordinating, implementing, prioritizing, and evaluating the University's overall strategic and digital recruitment, conversion, and retention initiatives. The selected incumbent must possess excellent interpersonal, critical-thinking, communication and problem-solving skills, a customer service orientation, strong project management experience, the ability to collaborate with multiple offices (e.g., Academic Affairs, Administration and Finance, and Advancement), and expertise in data analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Implement, track, and prioritize a comprehensive and data-driven university-wide enrollment strategy that supports the University's Strategic Plan (Elevate '28) and Strategic Enrollment Management Plan containing strategic recruitment and enrollment goals and related plans.

  • Demonstrate ability to stay abreast of emerging trends and innovations in enrollment management to ensure Empire remains competitive in the higher education landscape.

  • Ability to identify new student markets.

  • Actively pursue new technology.

Data Analysis

  • In collaboration with marketing, provide direction and oversight and ensure effectiveness of the personalized communication plans targeted toward prospective student target markets.

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of data management.

  • In coordination with decision support, develop and implement enrollment models, projections, and statistical reports to track and project admission, enrollment, and trends; analyze trend data and make recommendations for strategic interventions to enhance enrollment of prospective students and retain existing students.

Team Management

  • Supervise several departments within the Office of Enrollment Management and Marketing.

  • Routinely assess departments to ensure strategic deployment of human and financial resources.

  • Regularly conduct performance reviews of directors and routine discussions on competencies and achieved results, including yearly professional development plans.

  • Develop and manage measurement systems to review talent acquisition effectiveness and attract and retain high performing workforce.

    Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.

  • A minimum of seven years of experience successfully supervising a team.

  • Demonstrated successful experience in developing, evaluating, and improving recruitment, enrollment and/or marketing strategies from a data-driven perspective.

  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in higher education administration from an accredited institution.

  • Experience with recruiting and retaining a diverse student population.

  • Experience working in an online higher education environment.

  • Evidence of understanding current issues and trends in higher education.

  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of the university, both internal and external.

Additional Information:

  • The position will be based in Saratoga Springs or New York City (Manhattan).

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Rank/Salary: Management-Confidential / $160,000-$165,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.
