Experienced Engineer Quality

The Customer Quality Team is a group of experienced engineers to ensure our customers’ expectations and needs with respect to Quality topics are met or exceeded. Together with the Customer Quality Teams across the other GF locations, we collaboratively analyze customer’s needs, drive continuous improvement of GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ Quality Management System and resolve multiple kinds of quality issues to achieve best in class customer satisfaction levels.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated engineer to strengthen our Customer Quality Team. As member of this team, you will act as the single point of contact for strategic Fab1 customers concerning multiple kind of quality issues.

Your primary role is to proactively understand our customer’s expectations on quality and to drive effective implementation of required actions to achieve excellent customer satisfaction levels.

In this function you are:

  • Accountable to respond to customer inquiries according to given commitments, by working in or leading of cross functional and international teams

  • Coordinate and facilitate regular customer meetings, provide frequent quality reports

  • Analyze top tier customer quality issues through survey results, customer returns, complaints and drive improvement projects to meet customers’ expectations

  • Coordinate and facilitate customer audits

  • Working across functions and locations

  • Apply and improve procedures to effectively communicate to customers on Fab major quality issues to mitigate exposure and proactively meet customers’ expectations

  • Coordinate problem resolution, manage customer escalation and communication to ensure customer satisfaction and provide timely updates to management

  • Drive for systematic problem solving to effectively identify the root cause using quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, Kepner Tregoe, etc

  • Drive worldwide projects to deploy best practices within the Customer Quality teams in order to provide a OneGF experience to our customers

Required Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • University degree in a technical field (preferred: electrical engineering or physics)

  • Multiple years of relevant experience in Semiconductor Industry in Wafer Manufacturing (yield, process, development, etc.) and / or Quality functions

  • Ability to travel

  • Fluent English - written & verbal, German, Chinese would be beneficial

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid experience in the application of quality methods, e.g. FMEA, SPC, 8D, problem solving, auditing

  • In depth knowledge of semiconductor technology and manufacturing as well as semiconductor reliability

  • Post Fab manufacturing know how

  • Solid background and application of statistical methods

  • Fundamental knowledge of ISO9001 /IATF16949 and other relevant standards

  • Experience in automotive environment

  • Strong personality: excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, and team working skills

  • High flexibility and ability to work under pressure

  • Experience with cross functional and international settings

  • Team player with good interpersonal skills
