Your job

We are looking for an encouraged and motivated Engineer, Physicist or person with relevant semiconductor background to support our development activities in the Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) Department in Dresden / Germany. The Integration PLCM Tapeout Readiness Engineer is responsible for the completion of complex, cross-functional activities to support a successful tapeout phase and execution of tapeout flow crucial to GlobalFoundries’ success. The person in this position accomplishes program with people from several functional organizations involved and is responsible for on-time delivery of test site mas sets while satisfying customer and internal requirements. Identifying, alignment and driving resolution of technical issues across multiple organizations is an important task, while managing the execution for product introduction process. The job is offered within the Product Life Cycle Management team which interacts with several GlobalFoundries’ organizations (Design Enablement, Process Integration, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and Marketing, etc.) – a broad basic knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and tapeout procedures is beneficial.

To accomplish this job-function, this person:

  • takes responsibility for the success of implementation of new devices (products, MPW Multi Product Wafers, and test chips)

  • ensures tapeout flow synchronization with baseline technology and lead products.

  • tracks and drives resolution of product introduction specific topics during design readiness, mask making, and fab preparation up to silicon start.

  • supports program management for new product introduction into manufacturing.

  • identifies problems and initiates actions to address them effectively with structured problem solving.

  • understands and balances tapeout priorities effectively.

  • communicates device tapeout status within technical forums effectively.

  • presents status and recommendations for complex issues in the context of their relevance.

  • ensures effective tapeout and communication between all levels of the organization including team members.

  • optimizes results by managing product introduction schedule and quality trade-offs.

  • leads a risk management process at the product tapeout phase (e.g., Design Review Board) or drives a process improvement project together with relevant stakeholders.

    Your profile

  • Y ou have graduated with a master ’ s degree or similar in microengineering or another relevant field.

  • You are passionate about high-tech semiconductor technologies seeking for a challenging task in the field of new product introductions.

  • Ideally, you have already experience in project management with internal / external customers and in the handling of technical requirements.

  • Experience in technical roles within the semiconductor industry, e.g., in technology integration or silicon manufacturing is a benefit.

  • We are looking for a highly motivated team player with strong communication skills who is able efficiently exchange ideas and share results within and between teams with different technical background.

  • We expect competence in both, written and spoken English as well as solid knowledge in use of standard office software (Excel/PowerPoint).
