Union College Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance & Ticketing in Schenectady, New York

Provide hands on oversight for a comprehensive athletics compliance program to ensure compliance with all applicable NCAA, ECAC, Liberty League and College rules and regulations.

This individual will also coordinate the sales operation for season tickets and single game sales for women’s hockey, men’s hockey and football.

Union College, a highly selective liberal arts institution located in Schenectady, New York is accepting applications for the position of full time Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance & Ticketing. Union College is a member of NCAA Division III and the Liberty League. Union College sponsors 26 intercollegiate sports, 24 in Division III, with Ice Hockey competing at Division I. The successful candidate will oversee and implement a comprehensive athletics compliance program to ensure compliance with all applicable NCAA, ECAC, Liberty League and College rules and regulations.

This individual will also coordinate the sales operation for season tickets and single game sales for women’s hockey, men’s hockey and football in collaboration with the Senior Associate Athletics Director and two Assistant Ticket Managers.

Compliance: Reviews, addresses and adheres to NCAA bylaws and rules to ensure compliance with NCAA regulations.

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of NCAA rules compliance (i.e., recruiting, financial aid, eligibility, extra benefits, camps, and clinics, etc.) and legislative and academic initiatives through professional associations.

  • Monitor and implement the National Letter of Intent Program, along with initial and continuing athletics aid agreements in coordination with the Office of Financial Aid.

  • Coordinate and effectively process all recruiting procedures and playing and practice season documentation.

  • Effectively manage all communication with the NCAA, including rules interpretations, and waiver submissions.

  • Monitor and enforce compliance rules, including investigating violations and preparing reports for submission.

  • Update compliance policies, and develop student-athlete, NCAA, and Union eligibility documentation.

  • Prepare and successfully submit annual required NCAA reports.

  • Collaborate and educate departments on campus to manage a successful compliance program.

  • Serve as a Campus Title IX Deputy Coordinator, including conducting intake meetings with reporting parties, facilitating sexual assault prevention training in compliance with Title IX, New York State Education Law 129-B, and NCAA membership requirements. Responsible for oversight of coach and volunteer compliance with NCAA-required trainings related to sexual violence prevention.

  • Administer effective rules and educational efforts for student-athletes, coaches, athletics staff, and campus constituents.

  • Ticketing: Managerial oversight of ticketing operations and ticketing assistants.

  • Building season and individual ticket packages, day-to-day ticketing operations and reconciling ticketed events.

  • Presence and ticketing oversight at selected events.

  • Sport Supervision: Program oversight and administrator for selected programs.

  • Additional duties and projects as assigned.

Salary Range: $65,000-$68,000

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • A minimum of three years of successful NCAA compliance experience is required, preferably within an institutional athletics department.

  • A demonstrated thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to provide customer service to ticket holders and external constituents.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment while meeting deadlines.

  • The ability to work independently and prioritize multiple competing projects at once.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in sports administration, or a related field.

  • Experience in the NCAA Eligibility Center.

  • Prior experience working with NCAA My Apps, ARMs, and Microsoft Applications.

  • Experience working with business and ticket operations
