Responsibilities Job Summary The Vascular Lab Supervisor performs the most complex professional level assessments and a variety of non-invasive studies using ultrasound and related diagnostic technology as appropriate and records the results and clinical preliminary impression as indicated. The results of these exams are used to direct the course of patient care. There is daily contact with professionals and families. This is a full performance Vascular Sonographer position with advanced knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and disease processes. All examinations are performed within standard protocols on adults and occasionally on adolescents and pediatric age groups. This position serves in the role of IAC Technical Director and/or ACR Lead Technologist, and in this capacity, is responsible for maintaining accreditation of the laboratories. Additionally, this position requires the review and updating of protocols and Vascular Lab policies and procedures. The Vascular Lab Supervisor coordinates technical training for sonographers and organizes and maintains quarterly QI programs. The Vascular Lab Supervisor serves as a liaison and clinical instructor for any ultrasound student coming through the department for externship. The Vascular Lab Supervisor participates in the instruction of fellows and visiting physicians. This position may also require participation in clinical research. Works with satellite management at satellite facilities to ensure consistency at all sites to supervise technical and ancillary staff, in relation to vascular lab. Will include training, hiring, operation and management of equipment. Serve as a resource to all staff, patients and family members Completes and maintains all requirements to meet Vascular Lab accreditation. Including participating in ongoing quality improvements for the vascular lab, writing and reviewing vascular protocols, policies for evidence-based quality and safety. Maintain all CME requirements for techs and providers for accreditation purposes Work with practice leadership to meet all short and long term goals for vascular lab. To include monitoring reimbursement, suply cost, meeting vendors to evaluate new technology/supplies, review volumes and budget Performs ultrasound techniques and examination Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED Required Experience 5 years clinical ultrasound experience Required Licenses and Certifications American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) eligible. Includes passing SPI exam (Sonography Principles and Instrumentation Exam) Required Basic Life Support (BLS) Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification at the time of hire Required RDMS or RVT credentialed. This includes passing one of the following exams: Abdomen 1 Year Required
