Responsibilities Job Summary This position serves as the primary administrative leadership role for all Perioperative Services, while being Primary Perioperative Leader at an identified site. Collaborates with the Executive Leadership Team to establish a strategic vision and plan for all of Perioperative Services and Surgical sub service lines to implement key strategies and initiatives to achieve collaborative operational, growth, strategic, quality and safety goals. Translates strategic initiatives into plans and programs to meet system-wide and/or hospital-wide objectives. Create needed infrastructure to support strategic initiatives and goals and safeguard and/or grow market share. This position is a knowledgeable, change agent who represents Perioperative issues and concerns at the executive level and serves as the driving force to make changes that impact patient care in these areas throughout the system. Through partnership with key stakeholders, this position ensures that the mission, vision, and values are upheld and integrated into Perioperative practice and services. Leads, assists with and supports implementation of service-line strategic plans and program development requiring Perioperative Services. This leader will actively collaborate and partner with: Anesthesia Group/s and Providers around coverage at all points of service, and Medical Staff Leaders on identified initiatives and improvement efforts. Provides leadership in the development, implementation and expansion/growth of Perioperative Services across the Network. Works in tandem with Physician Leaders, Departmental Leaders, Medical Staff and appropriate stakeholders to ensure exceptional physician and staff engagement in identification of risk, problem solving, planning and quality, safety and efficiency improvements. Develop infrastructure supportive of effective implementation and communication of all changes. Co leads Surgical, Procedural Growth Initiatives in partnership with identified Senior Leader. Serves as the administrative leader of the Perioperative Collaborative in a dyad relationship with the Physician Director/s. Through this collaborative, the dyad will lead improvements to develop safe and highly reliable surgical care protocols and guidelines, develop and prioritize a clinical vision for innovation in care, and build a network infrastructure to support high standards of quality and safety and implementation of network initiatives. Through partnership with key stakeholders, leads and promotes network integration across all Perioperative and Surgical sub service line Departments. Develops/strengthens/unifies Perioperative divisions. Develops needed infrastructure to support effective communication, and sharing of best practices. Drives innovation through collaboration with physician leaders, operational leaders and staff. Identifies opportunities to improve: quality, safety, the patient’s experience, patient access to quality healthcare across the continuum of care, and the economic performance of the organization. Continually assesses healthcare-related trends and discoveries to ensure proper alignment with and timely response to trends. Develops and leads process to evaluate new surgical technologies and leads execution in a systematic fashion. For all areas of administrative oversight, collaborates with operational VP’s and/or Chief Operating OfficersHosptial Administrators to develop annual goals and objectives: capital, operational, financial, safety, quality, employee engagement, service throughput, cost and utilization. Develops and/or oversees development of proposals and justifications to secure administrative support and funding. Maintains collaborative partnerships with key physician leaders, executive nursing and operational leaders, service line administrators, stakeholders and departmental leaders. Fosters a goal-oriented environment that is aggressive in accomplishing results with a leadership style characterized by integrity, collaboration, trust, visibility, participation and appropriate delegation. Works directly with Senior Directors of Perioperative Services and Nursing Directors throughout the network to ensure integrated processes, elimination of waste and redundancy, reduce and control of supply expenses, and decrease variation in care delivery. Ensures good communication and alignment of direction, priorities and efforts with the hospitals’ operational leaders, while engaging with customers in a customer-service centric manner, identifying needed tools to achieve goals. Create/support infrastructure to execute on the afore mentioned. Assists with contract negotiations for supportive services to improve overall network-wide success of Perioperative Services. Is responsible for key initiatives surrounding growth, outreach and affiliations. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree In healthcare related field Required Experience 7 years Leadership experience in a multi-hospital system of medium to large size. Oversight to other support services in this structure. Required
