Bryce Corporation Environmental Compliance Mgr in Searcy, Arkansas
Summary: Implements policies and procedures meant to ensure environmental and regulatory compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards governing organizational impact on the environment.
Key Accountabilities:
Reviews applicable Federal and State Environmental Regulation affecting organization.
Conducts audits to verify compliance with applicable Regulations/Permits and communicates findings to executive leadership.
Prepares required reporting to local, state and federal agencies. This includes but is not limited to Emission Inventory, Hazardous Waste, Tier II, SARA 313 reports for each plant.
Prepares permit applications for any new source of emissions.
Act as a point of contact with local/state and federal environmental regulators. Maintains relationship with regulatory agency representatives to remain current on changing standards and interpretations.
Maintains certifications in required training (i.e. EPA Method 9, Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Materials Transportation, etc.)
Coordinates Environmental training for plant personnel and management.
Coordinates Hazardous Waste Disposals and reviews disposal sites compliance with applicable regulation.
Leads, assists or conducts environmental inspections.
Able to respond to environmental emergency incidents, spills, and other environmental related events.
Monitors the regulatory environment and develops a strategy for responding to new or amended legislation.
Responsible for the review, implementation, and administration of all aspects of the environmental programs.
Reviews construction plans to ensure compliance with environmental factors.
Advises, coordinates with and provides technical guidance to company staff and management regarding environmental policies and procedures.
Develops, recommends, and implements policies on environmental factors.
Advises, coordinates and provides technical guidance to the company regarding disposition of hazardous materials.
Ensures required licenses or regulations are maintained for hazardous materials.
Administers water pollutant discharge and related maintenance and paperwork.
Ensuring that all manufacturing processes and equipment have current and valid environmental permits.
Prepares and submits reports and records on departmental activities and results.
Develops and complies with the annual environmental budget.
Serves as sustainability contact for company.
Analyzes worldwide regulations and legislation and assists in the implementation of management systems that ensure the compliance of applicable company operations and products.
Develops and maintains a system for managing the company's regulatory compliance files and databases.
Serves as subject matter expert on efforts tied to Food Packaging Safety and Regulatory Compliance (HACCP, FDA, PROP 65, CONEG, EUPIA, Swiss Ordinance, etc.).
Review internal and external analytical testing data to ensure compliance to food packaging safety standards.
Responds to customer requests regarding food packaging safety and regulatory compliance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Degree in Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of progressively responsible experience in the Environmental field.
