Responsibilities

Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Selects appropriate imaging techniques and operates console and peripheral hardware. Enters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency, and develops film in an automatic processor. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Operates magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce cross-sectional photographs of patient's body for diagnostic purposes as ordered by physician.

  • Informs patient of the procedure and ensures patient understands the importance of removing metal objects before activating the magnet; positions and immobilizes patient; sets up any supportive devices necessary to obtain precise positioning.

  • Responsible for entering technical data into the computer; evaluates images to ensure technical quality.

  • Ensure that all information on the radiology requisition is accurate and complete initials are noted on requisition.

  • Adhere to all infection control guidelines. Complete all posted daily responsibilities

  • Provide personalized care by showing compassion, respect, and responsiveness to the needs of each individual patient.

  • Performs miscellaneous job related responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology program

  • Currently licensed in MRI through an accrediting bureau (ARRT)

    USD $55.00/Hr. USD $65.00/Hr.
