Seattle Children’s Hospital Research Technician I in Seattle, Washington

Responsibilities: The McCarthy Lab is focused on understanding epigenetic mechanisms regulating cell identity and applying these discoveries to cell reprogramming with the goal of developing liver cell therapies for transplantation. We are a new research group utilizing innovative methods in molecular biology, high-throughput sequencing, computational analysis, and humanized mouse models. We are seeking to hire a Research Technician to join our lab. We are looking for a highly motivated and intellectually curious individual with a strong commitment to scientific rigor. The technician will conduct experimental proceedures including but not limited to molecular biology, cell culture, microscopy, library preparation for high-throughput sequencing, and immunoassays. This position will offer opportunities for training in computational data analysis as well as mouse husbandry and surgery. Responsibilities will include experimental planning, record keeping, data interpretation, and communication of results with the rest of the research team. Requirements: Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of science or technology OR college-level coursework in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or in a related science curriculum AND equivalent lab experience. Required Credentials: N/A. Preferred: Data entry and/or word processing experience. Experience in analyzing data using spreadsheets and statistical analysis. At least two (2) years experience in a laboratory/research setting. Research experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, and tissue culture techniques may be preferred. Min to Max Hourly Salary: $19.82 - $28.74 /hr Min to Max Annual Salary: $41,225.60 - $59,779.20 /yr Salary Information: This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
