The Seattle Times Senior Account Executive in Seattle, Washington

Seattle Times Media Solutions (https://mediasolutions.seattletimes.com/) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Account Executive to join our dynamic sales team. This multifaceted role is designed for seasoned professionals proven experience in sales of media, creative services and digital managed services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of prospecting and selling annual contracts valued at $100,000+, demonstrating strategic thinking and providing recommendations to address client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow Existing Business:

  • Manage and expand a current book of business by developing strong relationships with existing clients.

  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services to meet clients' evolving needs.

  • Prospect and Acquire New Clients:

  • Actively prospect for new business opportunities and generate leads

  • Utilize a CRM to manage a strong sales pipeline.

  • Develop and present compelling sales proposals to potential clients, demonstrating the value of Seattle Times Media Solutions’ offerings.

  • Strategic Sales and Client Solutions:

  • Exhibit strategic thinking in assessing client needs and crafting tailored solutions.

  • Ability to use research and analysis in the sales process, understanding how the information applies to the clients consumer funnel.

  • Provide expert recommendations for media, creative services and digital managed services that align with clients’ business objectives.

  • Campaign Management:

  • Execute and oversee complex, multi-media campaigns in collaboration with Account Services partners.

  • Ensure campaigns are delivered on time, within budget, and meet client expectations.

  • Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Serve as a leader within the sales team by taking charge of special sections or Lunch and Learn sessions.

  • Attend high profile networking events as a representative of Seattle Times Media Solutions.

  • Mentor new hires, offering guidance and support to help them succeed.

  • Set an example for peers by demonstrating professionalism, expertise, and a commitment to excellence.

     

    Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in media and digital managed services sales.

  • Experience in cultivating and managing relationships with C-Suite executives.

  • Proven track record of prospecting and closing annual contracts valued at $100,000+.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to manage and execute complex, multi-media campaigns.

  • Leadership qualities with experience in mentoring and guiding team members.

  • Required proficiency in using CRM tools and sales software.

  • Ability to meet or exceed set sales goals.

  • Proven networking abilities, both in-person and online.

    Work Location: This is a hybrid role requiring about two days per week in the Seattle office (1000 Denny Way). No travel required.

     

    Compensation: The salary range for this position is $109,200 to $119,400, which includes annual base pay of $61,200 to $71,400 in addition to potential annual commission earnings of $48,000 (with no cap). Commission pay for the first three months of employment is guaranteed at $4,000 per month.

    Please Note: This position requires you to join a union and pay ongoing union dues each month. In addition, you will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screen for controlled substances (excluding marijuana) and a criminal background check once an offer has been made. Finally, you will need access to a personal vehicle to respond to work assignments.
