Amazon Senior Product Manager - Technical, Amazon Connect in Seattle, Washington

We seek a passionate, talented, and experienced Product Manager - Technical (PMT) to join us to drive strategic initiatives within Amazon Connect’s communications services. Amazon Connect is an easy-to-use cloud contact center service that helps companies of any size deliver superior customer engagement at lower cost.

As Senior PMT, you will play a crucial role in developing the next generation of communication services. You will drive strategic initiatives and innovation for real-time communication, including telephony (PSTN/SIP) and video (WebRTC), from concept through to customer adoption.

Key job responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to work backwards from their goals and challenges to define a product vision, including future roadmap, investment, innovation and experimentation.

  • Influence senior leaders across AWS and communicate your product vision, strategy, goals, status, and customer impact.

  • Build a roadmap and define features that delight our customers, drive adoption, and increase utilization of our services.

  • Collaborate with engineering to build new capabilities and source customers for early adoption, beta testing and launch partners.

  • Launch and promote new capabilities, in collaboration with product marketing.

  • Deliver compelling presentations, product demos, technical blogs, and discussions to drive adoption of communication offerings

A day in the life

Each day, you will work with customers to better understand their needs, and engineering to deliver solutions to those needs. Along the journey, you will work with partners across AWS, including finance, product marketing, and sales. Every week, you will be the advocate for your customers and your vision with AWS leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field

  • 5+ years of technical product management experience

  • 3+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience

  • Experience in taking a product from conception and definition, through engineering design, and taking it to market

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA degree or equivalent

  • Comfortable with making data driven decisions, yet willing to take a risk when the data is ambiguous.

  • Ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills.

  • Ability to navigate a complex and unstructured cross-functional environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based business models.

  • Experience in agile, lean startup product management processes.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
