Providence St. Joseph Health Social Worker MSW - Outpatient Oncology in Seattle, Washington

Description Social Worker MSW - Swedish First Hill campus SCHEDULE: 1.0 FTE, averaging 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday, 8a-5p PST. (Variable start and end time between operating hours). No weekends. *We happily offer our full-time Social Workers financial support for Continuing Education (CEUs), and provide both individual and group supervision hours. Assumes a case load of 35-40 patients a month, which includes identification, assessment and intervention of patient / family needs including coordination of cancer support resources, referral to appropriate resources and emotional supportive counseling to patients and their families receiving their care at the Swedish Cancer Institute. Facilitates educational classes and support groups. In addition, participates as a social work practicum instructor for interns. Must be able to commute to multiple Swedish Medical Center sites and affiliate locations to provide oncology social work services. Required Qualifications: Master's Degree - Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work. Washington Advanced Social Worker License upon hire. Or, Washington Advanced Social Worker Associate License upon hire. Or, Washington Clinical Independent Social Worker License upon hire. Or, Washington Clinical Independent Social Worker Associate License upon hire. 2 years - Post-graduate experience in providing services to clients who have chronic and acute illness in a health care setting, preferably oncology; or graduated social work interns through the Swedish Cancer Institute internship program. Preferred Qualifications: Support group leadership experience. Hospice or home-health experience desirable to maximize psychosocial intervention in assisting patients with issues of disability, separation, loss and dying. Why Join Providence?
