The Amazon's Shipping and Delivery Support (SDS) team focuses on providing drivers, delivering packages on behalf of Amazon, with seamless access to support and self-service capabilities through the SDS Driver Support Hub, available in their mobile-native delivery app.

As an SDE-II on Amazon's Shipping and Delivery Support (SDS) team, you will be responsible for developing the SDS Driver Support Hub, making it easily accessible with one click from anywhere in the mobile-native delivery app. You will design and implement features that dynamically offer relevant self-service options tailored to the driver's current state, whether on or off duty. Leveraging generative AI, you will create an intelligent Help search feature that facilitates content discovery and provides optimal call-to-action recommendations. Additionally, you will integrate large language model (LLM)-led chat and voice support options to ensure drivers receive comprehensive assistance throughout their journey. You will also perform code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and troubleshoot issues, ensuring the robustness and performance of the Driver Support Hub, ultimately improving the overall delivery process.

We're seeking a dynamic individual for our SDS team, responsible for delivering tech initiatives through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. This role involves formulating technical strategies, providing innovative solutions for faster rollouts, and participating in on-call responsibilities approximately one week every six weeks. Our team emphasizes fault tolerance in solutions to minimize after-hours pages. We work collaboratively to mitigate and prevent future occurrences. Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  • 1+ years of native mobile programming experience on Android or iOS with a modern mobile programming language such as Swift or Kotlin

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
