Amazon Email Services (AmazES) Perimeter Security team is looking for a highly skilled Senior Technical Program Manager to lead our email engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in email systems, as well as experience managing complex technical projects from start to finish. The Senior Technical Program Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and operations to drive successful delivery of email products and features.
Senior Technical Program Managers at AmazES must be capable of sorting through many competing priorities, defining processes that improve execution, championing Engineering best practices, executing with agility, and succeeding in a complex and fast paced environment. Key job responsibilities
Collaborate with email engineering team to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize product and feature requirements.
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals.
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Manage project risks and proactively identify and resolve issues that impact project delivery.
Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Drive continuous improvement of the email engineering process and best practices.
Develop and mentor team members to achieve their full potential.
A day in the life
As a Sr. Technical Program Manager, You are the glue that holds the engineering team together, and your expertise and guidance are critical to the success of email security products and features. You will be dealing with stakeholders from various internal organizations such as Engine, Enterprise Engineering, Security, Legal, Compliance etc.,

The AmazES Perimeter Security team secures email for Amazonians globally, owning inbound and outbound solutions, including advanced DLP. Our mission is to protect against threats, enabling Amazonians to focus on their work effectively. We leverage proprietary and third-party services to maintain a secure email environment, empowering safe communication and collaboration. As Amazon's email security guardians, we collaborate cross-functionally to enhance capabilities, adapt to evolving threats, and deliver exceptional protection.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of technical product or program management experience
7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
3+ years of software development experience
5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering
Strong technical background in email systems, including SMTP, DNS, and email delivery.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
