Blue Origin LLC Sr Test Technician - New Glenn in Seattle, Washington

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-liftorbital launch vehicle capable ofroutinelycarrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar,and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designedfrom the beginningto be human-capable. As part of the New Glenn Component Test team, you will support development, qualification, and production test campaigns on various New Glenn spaceflight systems. You will be required to maintain a safety-first mindset while setting up and executing hazardous tests, including cryogenic, high voltage, and high-pressure systems. You will be responsible for independently fabricating and troubleshooting test rigs/systems as well as test harnesses. You will support the team's equipment management and calibration. In addition, you will support flight hardware production by evaluating test procedures and processes for efficiency and implementing improvements. Qualifications: 8+ years experience in aerospace or related fields Demonstrated mechanicals skills such as welding, milling, lathe, drilling, torqueing, soldering, crimping, and tube flaring and bending Knowledge / experience with high voltage systems (AC and DC, 480V) Knowledge / experience with high pressure and/or cryogenic systems (gaseous and liquid) Ability to fabricate high pressure plumbing systems Knowledge and experience with test operations procedures including hydraulic load control, hydro/pneumatic pressure control, and safe handling of flight parts Demonstrated ability to fabricate and repair electrical systems and wire harnessing Ability to install and operate instrumentation including strain gages, pressure transducers, load cells, thermocouples, RTDs, accelerometers, and analog circuitry Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, blueprints, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and wiring schematics Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail Excellent judgment with demonstrated ability to recognize, report, and correct issues Strong development background and experience working with limited instruction Ability to document and maintain accurate records with strict procedural compliance Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: 10+ years of applicable industry experience (launch vehicles, satellites, aircraft, motorsports, oil & gas). A&P license or equivalent experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly and integration Demonstrated technical expertise in design, operation, testing, or production of pressurized (up to 6000 psi), cryogenic, hydraulic, and/or mechanical systems. Strong knowledge of fluid components such as valves, regulators, actuators, servo-valves, and fittings. Experience performing electrical work and repairs per NASA-STD-8739.4, AC-43.13-1B or similar Experience with Environmental Testing per SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-1540 or MIL-STD-810.
