Job Description

AECOM is seeking an established professional services leader in the Surface Transportation sector to drive the growth and strategy of AECOM’s services in the West Coast of the United States. This individual will be part of the leadership team for the West Coast Surface Transportation Division and will have responsibility for top line growth of the Surface Transportation Division. The ideal candidate will be an industry leader with existing relationships at key highway and transportation agencies in California and/or Washington. The Surface Transportation Division at AECOM works within all phases of services including environmental, planning, design, and program management. This leader will need to be a self-starter who can build a high-performing team rapidly and demonstrate a successful track record in winning work.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

The Surface Transportation Growth Leader will need to be a growth minded leader who can work collaboratively with other senior leadership and mentor staff in a dynamic setting to drive business development, capture management, account management, proposal and interview preparation, and ultimately grow top line wins and bookings.

The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Plans, organizes and implements all business development activities for the Surface Transportation Division

  • Works independently to pursue development of new business prospects

  • Act as an external leader for AECOM and maintain a visible profile in the region

  • Build and cultivate a high performing growth team that thrives in a face paced environment

  • Drive growth, strategy, and sale of AECOM’s Surface Transportation Services

  • Help build a strong and thriving culture in the West Coast that promotes equity, diversity, inclusion, sustainability, and innovation

  • Participate in negotiations of contractual and financial agreements with clients and sub-consultants

  • Key Performance Indicators include wins, bookings, contribution margin sold, pursuit investment versus wins ratio, and backlog growth

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 10+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience including business development, capture management, and account management

  • Ability to teach and mentor technical staff by demonstrated knowledge of relevant technical skills and tools

  • Ability to build broad and deep internal and external networks, and capable of communicating to inspire and lead others

Preferred Qualifications

  • Team-oriented individual with ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Strong market surface transportation client knowledge and contacts in Seattle Area

  • Knowledge of Southern California and/or Seattle markets and contacts are a plus

  • Ability to generate and maintain positive momentum for growth across the division

  • Ability to communicate clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff

  • Ability to balance various responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $181,851.00 - $336,424.00.
